Berry Gordy
A product of Detroit, he worked on an auto assembly line. Then, on the strength of an $800.00 loan from family
members, he went on to become the world’s pioneer and fore. most producer of Soul R & B music. He co-wrote
songs and published music, then he founded the Motown Corporation. Out of that company came the Motown sound
which
became famous worldwide.
This entity provided an avenue to the world audience; the most fascinating sound in the history of the recording
industry. This music sound had laid dormant inside the minds, hearts and souls of black people for centuries. It was
Berry Gordy who awakened this giant of a God gifted art inside the hearts and souls of these great talents, then gave
black folks and the world a remarkable array of talents like Michael Jackson, Marvin Gaye, Diana Ross and the
Supremes, Gladys Knight and the Pips, Stevie Wonder, The Temptations, Smokey Robinson and the Miracles, and
the list goes on and on and on….
Show-ya-right; It was Berry who pinpointed and developed this market which is now a multibillion dollar industry worldwide.
